- Text pictures of where your new door is to be installed. Stand back approximately 10 feet and use the zoom out function on your phone zooming out 100% - Do this on both sides of the wall.
- Text over a link to the new door (or send a picture of the label)
- If you are still waiting for your door to arrive from wherever you purchased it from, PLEASE! Let me know. (They never arrive on scheduled date)
- Inspect your new door for cracks and poor quality control and make sure you received the correct door.

Standard Size is 36x80
Note: If you have a 36x80, the actual size of the door frame is around 37.5x81.75 - Your header needs to be at 82" and your jack studs need to be 38" apart. Your Rough Opening needs to be 38x82 (or larger) to fit a pre hung door that is sold as a 36x80 - Your brand new door should have a label attached to the side stating this information. What is a Rough Opening? A rough opening (RO) is the space framed in a wall designed to receive a door. It is supposed to be larger than the actual door size (including the door frame). The Door Frame is to fit inside the rough opening with enough space between the door frame and the rough opening to be able to add shims until a level installation is acquired. Door Measuring Tips |

What is a Pre Hung Door? A Pre-Hung door comes with the door, hinges and frame all attached together. If it is an Exterior Pre Hung Door, it will also come with the threshold and weather stripping already attached. Purchasing the doors with all the needed parts attached is cheaper than purchasing parts separately not including the cost of labor to assemble.

What is a Door Slab? A door slab is just the door and nothing more. If you install a Door Slab onto your existing door frame (also known as door jams), 90% chance your existing jams are out of square, parts of your brand new door will have to be cut or shaved, although this is okay for Rental Properties, I would personally go with a pre-hung door. Properly installed, a pre-hung door will not have shaved corners, nor will it be out of square
